Locked Out Of Love: Victorians Get Frisky In Lockdown With Sex Toy Sales SoaringLocked Out Of Love: Victorians Get Frisky In Lockdown With Sex Toy Sales Soaring

Victorians experienced a frisky five days in lockdown as Sexyland Australia’s online sales soared.

Although we may have been prohibited from celebrating Valentine’s Day the traditional way, it appears that couples and singles turned up the heat and opted for sex toys instead.

2021 may have forced us to flirt with face mask’s but it also apparently made us more adventurous in the bedroom. On Monday, data released from Sexyland Australia’s eCommerce platform confirmed sales increased by 763% in comparison to Valentine’s Day 2020.

It’s not just older couples who have an appetite for sex toys.

“Our key audiences have always been customers aged between 35–54 but over the five-day lockdown period we witnessed a massive 45% increase in millennial customers aged between 25-34” says Marketing Director Rebecca Grech.

Friskiest suburbs over the snap lockdown were Greater Geelong, Bentleigh, Pakenham and Keysborough.

Consistent with past lockdowns, customers took advantage of the 2-hour ‘Quickie’ courier services which discreetly delivers adult toys to the customers in a COVID-Safe manner.

Remote-controlled pleasure devices were the top selling products, followed by traditional toys that vibrate.

Many devices nowadays include Bluetooth capability, revolutionising the opportunities for those that can’t be with their loved one, by allowing connectivity to the device via an app on your smartphone.

It’s safe to assume that Victorian’s weren’t ceremoniously locked out of love during the five-day snap lockdown.
