Pegging
06 October 2026

October is a perfect month for a little bit more kink, so if you’ve been curious about pegging, consider this your little nudge to start the conversation. Whether it’s something you’ve joked about, Googled in private or have been thinking about trying with a partner, there’s no need to dive straight in. The best place to start is with a chat.
Talk about what you’re both curious about, what you might like to explore and what feels like a firm no. You don’t need to have all the answers before you begin, either. It’s completely okay to be new, nervous, excited or a little bit of everything. The important part is making sure everyone feels comfortable and can speak up honestly along the way.
Before getting started, take some time to prepare. Choose a toy that feels suitable for beginners if you’re new to pegging, make sure everything is clean and safe to use, and keep plenty of lubricant nearby. Go slowly and remember there is absolutely no prize for rushing. The receiving partner should be able to control the pace, communicate what feels good and ask to pause or stop at any time.
It can also be helpful to agree on how you’ll check in with each other before you start. That might be as simple as asking “Are you okay?” or “Want to keep going?”, or you may prefer to use a safe word. Whatever works for you, make sure you both know that changing your mind is always okay.
And remember, communication doesn’t have to make things serious or awkward. A little laugh, a quick check-in or saying exactly what you like can all be part of the fun.
Pegging is about more than getting the technique right. It can be a chance to explore trust, curiosity and a different kind of connection with your partner. So take the pressure off, keep talking, stay curious and let yourselves explore at a pace that feels right for both of you.
