Sexyland recommends using an antibacterial toy cleaner with all sex toys before and after play, especially if they’ve
come into contact with bodily fluids. After applying your toy cleaner, rinse your toys with warm water or wipe them down with a damp washcloth depending on whether your toy is waterproof (which you can confirm by checking your toy’s instructions). For sex toys with closed tunnels like masturbators, you can use a cleaning sponge on a stick to remove excess fluids, then mix a solution of toy cleaner and water in a squeeze bottle, douche, or lubricant applicator tube to flush the inside of the toy.
Water-based lubricants are compatible with all adult toy materials including silicone and are the easiest to clean up as they wash away with plain water and are non-staining. Silicone-based lubricants are typically not compatible with sex toys made from silicone, but they are the longest-lasting formula on the market and are also water-resistant, making them great for shower sex and playing in other wet areas. Hybrid lubricants are a combination of water and silicone, giving you the best of both worlds with the easy clean-up of water-based formulas and the longevity of silicone-based lubricants! All of these lubricants are compatible with condoms.
Since the anus isn’t self-lubricating like the vagina, the key to comfortable anal play is a long-lasting glide that protects the sensitive anal tissue from friction.
