How was your experience with the toy?
Intimacy is a fun bedroom game for couples (of any gender!) that plays a lot like a game of Truth or Dare. Players take it in turns rolling the dice, moving along a track and then either asking a naughty question or requesting an even naughtier challenge! There are 6 categories that range from Romance and Intimacy through to Sex and Kinky Adventures.
The game strikes the perfect balance between being enough of a game that there’s something to engage with, but not so much that it gets in the way of the real fun. It knows its place! The rules are basic, it doesn’t take hours to play, and it is flexible enough to fit your tastes no matter how adventurous you are. The questions are often funnier than they are sexy, “What superhero would you have a threesome with?” and the challenges don’t often get much raunchier than “Do nude Yoga together”, but that’s honestly part of the game’s charm. It’s a fun way to warm up, but it doesn’t try to be the main course, which I think is great.
The ultimate goal of the game is to collect tokens which the winner can then use to choose how you’ll have sex at the end. But honestly, by the time you get to a winner the board has probably long since been kicked on to the floor (that was certainly the case each time we’ve played it!).
The only negative, which would be easily fixed, is that the questions are featured on 6 different “menus” of 30+ questions. It means there is often a lot of waiting while your partner decides what devious activity they’ll have you do. I’d recommend having a skim through the cards beforehand, to at least pick out some of your favourites. A pack of cards might have been a better option, but on the upside, at least there is a lot of flexibility in how naughty or nice you feel like being. This one will definitely feature regularly on game night!
What did you like or dislike most about it?
Pros:
- Quick and easy to learn
- Doesn’t take hours to play
- Is genuinely fun with a lot of creative questions and challenges!
Cons:
- The menus, while allowing flexibility, slow the game down considerably
- The token colours are hard to differentiate under romantic lighting
- Would have more replay value with a deck of cards instead of menus
